Question: Domain name police? can an ordinary person own a .org domain name?

Are .org domain names only owned by non- profit organizations? Can a person own one and end up with a profit making domain? What are the rules and is there any enforcement of those rules on proper domain names for profit and non profit? Any info is welcome if this is too many questions.

No, there is no enforcement of .org being used for only nonprofits. I own several .org domains for many years, and do make some money off of them.
