Question: Email marketing help ! urgent !?

I want to collect email addresses and then (spam) but not spam the addresses with offers that companys would send me . is this a illigal or are there any rules ? is this a good idea ? anybody want to help or give me any ideas ? thanks in advance jack..

You need to give people options to leave your SPAM list. IF not it is illegal and also people must subscribe and accept to receive your emails
