Why is my fast internet so slow?
hellolately my internet speed is very slow, and sometimes I cant even get on the internet.my internet provider is Charter cablesometimes everythings running fine, but sometimes its very slow.here is one thing that confuses me even when my internet is slow, when I do a internet speed test its around 9Mbps which is pretty fast.the second thing that confuses me is that when my computer's internet is slow, my laptops internet is fine. it seems like the problem is in my computer but I dont know what it is. my anti virus program is Norton, and I already bought a system optimizer which is supposed to make your computer faster.

I currently live in a mostly rural area and not a lot of people have internet or any use for it but I recently got " high speed" portable internet. However, my speeds are like dial up slow. If I download at best it is at 35 kbs and at worse and quite often between 10 20 kbs. I want to know which internet service providers are cheap with high speed without having to add phone or tv I don't have a home phone or watch tv so it's a waste of money and also doesn't cost more than $50.00 a month. I have a friend who doesn't live too far who uses AT& T but I'm not sure what he pays for it or how fast it actually is. But when I've used it videos would load in seconds about 3 00 or so in length and mine would take over half an hour.

48.0 MbpsMy xbox live keeps on lagging really badly and i haven't the foggiest why, the normal internet works like a dime, i'm doing the connection through ethernet to computer, then computer to wireless router, then wireless router to box only way i can do it to the second answeree, no my internet modem is downstairs and i have a little wireless router box that connects to the modem downstairs and i plug my ethernet cable into my computer in order to get live.
My super-fast internet connection has suddenly slowed down, can this mean I have a virus?
I am worried that one of my recent downloads even though checked by my anti virus has somehow infected my computer, because an hour or so after downloading my internet became dramatically slower out of the blue It is unlikely to be the server my computer is plugged directly into the modem It takes 5 minutes just to load Google I'm thinking someone might have hijacked my connection? If it is " only" a problem with my modem, what should I do to fix it?Please help I'm desperate and scared. It takes 10 minutes for me to load any decent site. And this one was near impossible Thanks. I will choose a best answer and provide points if I can, though I'm very new to this.
Can I get fast internet service without having a phone jack?
I live in a little shed building thing on a woman's property and have a very weak connection from her wireless and am looking to get my own but the services i have looked into include very rude customer service people when you tell them you don't have a phone jack. Any ideas? or do the usb things you can get from like sprint or something really work?

i used to have a netgear router. so i was bored and i decided to swap with my friends wireless router. everything works fine but now im getting slower internet. with my old router my ip was different than the one i have now.the thing is with my old router i got 8megabits ip 74.199.102.XXwith the new router i get 3mbits ip something elseboth had dhcpso since i remembered my old ip i disabled it and entered in 74.199.102.XX manuallynow i have fast internet againhow did this happen?is there a way i can find other ip addresses that have faster speeds? please dont present an answer questioning my morals

Can I hack my Motorolla 2210 DSL modem to get faster internet? I have the 6.0 plan but i think it can go faster because once i saw my bit torrent download going 847 KB s instead of 613 KB s which is what i normally get which is barely hitting 5.0MBPS. My ISP is AT& T thanks

Well from looking, the best, that I know and when you look on the website for the fastest internet speed they serve is 50 mbs and that is fast like idk around 5 or so mps per second download speed. Well anyway enough of my not making sense. What I mean is from a speed like that do they have the 250 gigabyte bandwidth cap? or do they have like 500 or even 1 terabyte bandwidth cap. I mean for a speed like that and if the bandwidth cap was at 250 wouldn't you reach that in no time?

okay, so i have a computer with a modem, and plugged into the back of the modem is an ethernet port going to another computer. now this other computer is receiving internet. like i can play Internet Checkers and Limewire gets a full signal but Internet Explorer and Safari cant get online. i will gladly supply more upon request.
