Question: If i buy my own internet router do i till need a internet service provider?

Yes you will still need to get an ISP. All a router does is enable multiple computers to connect to the same internet connection at your house. for instance, instead of connecting your computer directly to the modem, you connect your router to the modem, then your computer to the router. the benefits of the router is that you can connect multiple computers, even wirelessly

No u doesn't need any connection just you need is router it will catch an linksys network and you will easily using internet for free because i myself use router!
