Can't get wireless internet access while signal is good.?
I have an internetmodem which is capable of wireless and cable connections. I mostly internet with cable, but now I have a netbook which I carry round the house. The signal seems good but I hardly ever get access to the internet, only once for a short while. It keeps trying to connect but always fails. Now it said that it failed to acquire a new IP adress. Are there problem solving programs or what do you think might be the problem?
Advice on networking a small office wirelessly that already uses a wireless internet access point please?
I want to link four office computers wirelessly that access the internet already through the buildings WAP. Ideally every computer should have access shared folders on each computer. There are two printers, one of which can be connected through usb or ethernet, and I do have a hard drive that would be nice to be networked in. I did buy a top of the range Belkin router but the setup wizard asked me to connect my modem to the router and there I got stuck as I don't use one. I'm very tech savvy but know absolutely nothing about networking. Any help please?The four computers obtain the internet from the buildings WAP. They are not currently networked together themselves.The only reason I mentioned the internet was because the two times I have bought routers they have required a modem to be connected to them. I have no need to connect to the internet through the routers and was wondering is the an alternative wireless lan I could set up.

What would I need for wireless internet access for my PC?
Alright, so I moved into a new place and I have a desktop pc. I currently have Verizon DSL. I was planning on canceling it, being that I had it at the place i used to live at. Now, the new place I'm at, my landlord says I can use his verizon high speed internet service if I wanted to. He has a router. I now live right above him. My question is, what would I need to get the internet on my pc? Please be very descriptive if possible. I hear a USB wireless flash? Do I need anything special? I am going on a road trip for 10 days and bringing my laptop. I am looking for some type of short term internet wireless service so I can use the internet while traveling with my laptop. I know you can use your blackberry as a modem, but the service is terrible, and often cuts in and out. I want good reliable service, but do not want to be subjected to a contract. Woops. Bandwidth meter restarted on the 23rd. Not 29th.My mum is paying for cable so to help her out, just for now I'm paying $60 a month for the internet and I'm only 15 " . We have wireless internet, and the people who use the internet most is me, and my 17 year old brother he uses it on his PS3 . Anyways... I always have to put up with really slow internet. The reason is because my brother, sits around watching cartoons all day because he has no life. Our bandwidth meter restarted on the 29th of last month. I went to check it today and we've already used 18GB. I haven't been home since the 2nd of this month, and even the days after that I barely downloaded anything. Whenever I go into my brothers room he's watching either Every single episode of every single season of Power Rangers, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Beyblades, a few others, or porn. It's so unfair that my internet sucks so bad because of him, when I'm the one who pays for the internet. I have to work for that money, and he gets $40 a week from my mum just so he won't spend money from his bank account that's supposed to be for his college funds. My mum thinks he uses it for food, clothes, etc but I think he just goes and spends it on weed. Anyways... is there anything I can do that could block his access, or slow it down a lot or anything at all?Thanks in advance. Big thanks for listening to me rant a bit
