Question: Free newsgroup access?

Does anyone know where you can access newsgroups for free like comp.sys.atari.8bit or rec.games.video.classic? Comcast is ending their free newsgroup service in a few more days and you will have to subscribe to it directly through Giganews for a fee. It's tough paying for something you've been getting for free for years...thanks Comcast!

Verizon did the same, because some Senator from NY, thinks USENET is where all kiddie porn is downloaded from and he pressured the ISPs to drop it. Hell 99% of computer users don't even know what USENET is! TeraNews: teranews.com/ has free newsgroups (one-time $4. setup fee) but one is limited to 50 MB per day, but one can borrow from the days ahead for larger downloads. Thats the best I could find.
