Hi wen i get to the screen tht says, driver options, refresh, format, delete etc i click format the timer appears for 5 secs then it goes bk to the screen again like nothing has happend can any1 helpYes i want 2 wipe my hard drive m selling my laptop, i have the dell OS cd which i booted from so how would i wipe the hard drive?Yea i want to wipe format my c drive, iv already took all my files off the comp tht i need, its a dell windows vista, i have the dell OS CD, i need it wiped bcuz im selling it, iv only got the C drive and the recovery drive

So I've tried to do it via windows update where you select the updates and they.. update but it has failed soooo many times. The error code is 80246007 but i have no idea what that means SAlso youtube has been warning me that they will soon not be supporting internet 7 and to install internet 9. I can't update my internet 7 to intenet 9 because I don't have service pack 2 installed. I can't use firefox because I uninstalled firefox because everytime I wanted to use it a message saying this Firefox cannot open because it is already running, please close the other program to open it popped up, or something like that... and it always stopped responding and stuff.I don't know why but my internet google now takes forever to close and alot of the time i have to wait a while until it comes up with that close windows, restart windows, cancel thing.Just so you know I have very good spywear protection. I use trend micro and it is very effecient and i update it all the time and I scan all the time. Full system scans and quick scans.Anyway if you didn't realize my question is Why can't I install service pack 2???
Will restoring my laptop that started with windows vista get rid of the windows 7?
when i got my laptop it had windows vista, best buy told me that i get a free upgrade to win7 when it comes out.... so year passed and im selling the laptop but i dont know if restoring it to factory settings will get rid of the win7 or if i the product code would have to be put in again think i lost them when restored... any answers apreciated

Can't find a program on Windows Vista?
So I downloded this program, BookSmart, from Blurb, yesterday, and I forgot what file folder I put it under. I clsoed it, and today I came back to work on my book again, but I cant find the program When I search from the start menu, it brings me to the BookSmart link in my favorites. So basically, the search is no use. Also, when I looked under instal change programs, what do you know, its there So its still installed no desk top item, no folder to be seen, I looked everywhere Please help I dont know what to do My entire story is saved on a file I cant find Please help

Hi, Ive recently upgraded my wireless modem using AOL and 2 of our laptops work but we cant connect to the wireless on the 3rd one which uses windows vista. THe others are windows 7. It will connect with the cable but not wireless it says local connectivity only.Any ideas pleaseMany thanks

Windows vista the main HDD was changed to x instead of c, how do i change it back?
i have a windows vista that was tampered with and the HDD letter was changed to x, now the computers OS was wiped out.When i turn on the PC what comes up is a black screen indicating to insert a disc so that the PC can be booted up from there, i put in the installation disc of vista and it loads.Now i follow the instructions until i get to the screen to select where to install the OS but it doesnt show any.it says to install the drivers to access the hard drive . I'm stuck, i dont know where to go from here. I click the browse button and i see the hard drive present but i cannot access it.Can anyone help me solve this problem??

im running Windows Vista with a Intel R G45 G43 Express Chipsetand everything is telling me to update my driversand i cant see to find a way to update the drivers..any help would be nice
